Folding door price by number of panels

Folding doors are priced per panel, so the total follows the width of the opening. Most villa openings need 3 to 6 panels.

Prices exclude VAT. Opening widths are approximate and use the recommended panel widths of 80 cm for frameless and 90 cm for framed. The largest opening SmartFix makes is 10 panels. Sliding folding doors are fitted at the same panel prices.

A worked example

A villa living room has a 3.6 m wide opening onto the patio. Four 90 cm framed double-glazed panels cover it: 4 panels at AED 3,000 is AED 12,000 plus VAT. That figure covers supply, installation, handles and locks, tracks and rollers, and delivery.

The same four panels in thermal-break framing come to AED 14,000. A frameless set of four 80 cm panels covers about 3.2 m and comes to AED 10,000.

Which type to choose

• Frameless shows the most glass and the least metal, and it is the lowest price. SmartFix has fitted 36 frameless panels across a restaurant frontage in Business Bay and 5 in an office in Silicon Oasis.
• Framed uses double-glazed glass in an aluminium frame. SmartFix has fitted 5 framed panels on a villa in Al Furjan and 8 in a factory meeting room in Ras Al Khaimah.
• Thermal-break framed adds a thermal break in the aluminium frame and rolls on a floor track, which suits taller panels. SmartFix fitted 18 panels on a villa in Dubai Hills.

What can add to the price

• A special frame colour, for example an electroplated finish
• Special glass, such as textured or crystal clear
• Panels larger than the recommended size for the type

Anything that adds to the price is quoted after the site survey.

Lead time and warranty

SmartFix gives 3 to 4 weeks for folding doors. The warranty covers installation workmanship and parts that are replaced. It does not cover glass breakage, damage, misuse or neglect, damage from power variation, fire, storm or accident, changes or servicing by anyone other than an authorised technician, ordinary wear, or consumables.

How to compare folding door quotes

Two quotes for a 4-panel folding door can differ and both be fair. Check that both:

• Use the same number of panels and the same panel height
• Use the same glass (single or double glazed, thickness, clear or colour)
• Use the same frame type, with or without thermal break
• Include handles, locks, tracks and rollers
• Include installation and delivery
• Say whether VAT is included
• State the warranty in writing

Published guide prices from other Dubai suppliers that we checked in October 2026 sit in a similar band of about AED 2,500 to 3,500 per panel. A quote far outside it deserves a question.
